The specific duties of the magistrate will include but not be limited to the following: preside over trials and hearings in civil cases; preside over hearings involving petitions for protection orders; preside over trials and hearings in cases involving preliminary injunctions; preside over matters involving administrative appeals; preside over arraignment hearings in criminal cases; perform legal research as may be necessary for the issuance of decisions; prepare written decisions incorporating findings of fact and conclusion of law; supervise and assign tasks to support staff concerning administrative duties including but not limited to docketing, continuances, and various other matters; complete any other duties requested or assigned by the judges; perform all of these duties in a timely manner which respects and accomplishes the effective administration of justice.
